BRAVO is currently recruiting for the following positions.




This position is the nerve center of the operation. All communication between the crew, callers, hospitals, management and others flows though the dispatcher. The dispatcher answers BRAVO phone lines, gain an understanding of the caller’s needs and dispatches ambulances as required. The dispatcher will also be in communication with FDNY operations for hospital status as well as mutual aid services.

  •  *Current CPR certification (Can be obtained after acceptance into BRAVO)
  •  *Driver’s license or formal photo ID




This position will work with the crew to drive BRAVO vehicles to a variety of places including a patients location, hospitals throughout NYC and special events. A BRAVO driver will be required to drive with due regard using lights and sirens as required and under advisement of the crew chief. An EMT card is NOT required for this position and patient contact is limited.



  • *A clean NYS driver’s license  (CDL is NOT required in NYS)
  • *Ability to follow directions
  • *CEVO III or equivalent
  • *Current CPR certification (Can be obtained after acceptance into BRAVO)




This position has direct contact with patients and provides care at the patients location as well as on the way to the hospital. EMTs will communicate with the patient, perform their assessment, provide care, determine the best way to transport the patient, determine the appropriate hospital to take the patient to and provide a patient care report (both verbal and written) to the receiving hospital. EMTs are also required to document all patient interactions in detail and maintain communication with the dispatcher. EMTs respond to calls received by BRAVO, special events and flag downs.

On the evening of the interviews, please have all required paper work listed below available.

  • *Completed Membership Application
  • *Signed consent for a complete background check
  • *Driver’s license or formal photo ID (original)
  • *Original Certifications (NYS EMT card, CPR card) if you currently have any


Please allow time in your schedule for the following mandatory classes which are given to you at BRAVO, at no cost upon your acceptance approximately two weeks after your date of interview:

  • *Dispatching-all members
  • *Ambulance core training-EMT’s only
  • *When to work scheduling program-all members
  • *CPR if needed.


NOTE: Training classes are very important and attending all BRAVO training classes is mandatory. Without the proper training and understanding of how BRAVO operates, we cannot allow you to begin volunteering.
